Nuclear Power Corporation has signed an MoU with Areva, the French Energy major to get two European Pressurised Reactors (EPR) of 1650 MW each. The project will come up in Jaitapur in Maharashtra and will be set up by NPC. This deal is made possible by a bilateral agreement with France and India after Indo-US nuclear deal which allowed for peaceful use of nuclear energy.
