Nuclear Power Corp plans 6000 MW power plant in Kovvada

Nuclear Power Corp of India is planning to set up a 6000 MW nuclear power plant in Kovvada in Srikakulam district of Andhra Pradesh. The state government has declared five adjoining villages in the state as project affected zone to facilitate land acquisition. It may be noted that, the project was mooted in 2007 but slowed due to Fukushima accident.

Brighton Power Corp to set up forged components units in Nakkapalli

Project Location : Nakkapalli, Vizag, Andhra Pradesh

Brighton Power Corp is planning to set up a nuclear power gear equipment in Nakkapalli in Visakhapatinam of Andhra Pradesh. The company is likely to sign an MoU with the state for an investment of Rs. 2880 million plant. The land for the project will be allotted through APIIC and other benefits as per the new industrial policy. It will manufacture forged steel components that are used in nuclear power plants. The project is likely to go operational by 2012.

Koodankulam nuclear plant to go critical by end of 2010

According to the chairman of Atomic Energy Commission (AEC), Koodankulam power plant will go critical by end of 2010. Its second unit will also go critical after 8 months and fuel loading is expected to begin shortly.
